Humans of Unicrew: Rebecca Good

Welcome back to Humans of Unicrew! Taking inspiration from “Humans of New York” we are trying to catch up with the wonderful people that make this volunteering world go around. One of the beautiful things about this community is that it is ordinary people doing their part to make the uni, the city and the world just a wee bit more awesome.

What kinds of people do you most enjoy working with?
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and the different dynamics required to do so. The programs I have been involved in have seen me work with everyone from children to working professionals to retirees.

What needs to change in Dunedin?

I think Dunedin has an incredibly unique community vibe, and groups like Unicrew do a great job in bridging the gap between the student population and the rest of the community. However I’d love to see even more student involvement in the wider community – it’s a win/win situation for everyone involved!

What keeps you motivated?

I just want to be a good person and use my time productively. I know I may not have the flexibility and spare time to do all these things when I finish uni, so I’m trying to make the most of it while I can!

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you want to have dinner with?
