“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
– Barack Obama.
Kia Ora! We – Therese, Mel and Jean – are your UniCrew bloggers for the year. We’re a spunky, creative trio of adventurous, scatterbrained, saucy volunteers dedicated to keeping you updated on volunteering opportunities and news at the University of Otago. We’re deeply passionate about making a change and giving back to the kind community of Dunedin that has fostered our shrivelled little Scarfie hearts for the past four years. Check in regularly for exciting updates and eye-catching photos. Who knows? You might spot yourself helping out!
Throughout the year, we’ll be introducing you to an assortment of ideas and opinions. The UniCrew blog will provide a window into just how diverse volunteering and its people can be. We’ll host content from guest bloggers and hear exciting tales from volunteers working in both far-off places like Madagascar, and right on our doorstep in South Dunedin. We will also discuss the challenges and rewards of volunteering, and we hope to provide a platform for great discussion and debate.
